HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING HIGH SELF-ESTEEM?

Here are some of the things that a sufferer told us helped her.

“I used to look in the mirror and find things about myself I hated and wanted to change: my thighs, my hair, my skin.  After a while I realised that the list in my head of things I wanted to change about myself was getting bigger all the time.  It was because I was looking for the things I didn’t like, but the only reason I didn’t like certain things about me was because I was comparing myself to other people.  I realised that the only person I was upsetting was myself.  I tried to stop comparing myself to others and start looking for things I liked about being me rather than things I didn’t.  It didn’t happen overnight, and it was really hard at first but, eventually, I started to feel a lot better about myself.  After all, if you look for the bad you will find it, but if you try to look for the good, you will find that too!”
