What Is Self-Esteem PDF Print E-mail
Self-esteem is the way that you feel about yourself as a whole person.  >If you like yourself as a whole person, which means accepting your strengths as well as your weaknesses, you probably have high self-esteem.

If you feel low about yourself and have a tendency to put yourself down, then you probably suffer from low self-esteem.  Having low self-esteem can affect your relationships, your work or study and can generally bring you down.

Having high self-esteem can give you the confidence to believe in yourself and do things that you might otherwise be scared of doing, like speaking to others or trying something new.  High self-esteem is about accepting yourself for who you are, not about being perfect.
