The world in which we live in is obsessed with beauty and body image, miracle creams, latest fashions, latest weight loss tips and wonderful lotion and potions. Most of these products are endorsed by celebrities to encourage us to spend our money on them. Trying to meet these expectations of how we should look drains our money, time and energy. When we realize these products don’t do what they claim to we find ourselves thinking “ I look ugly”, “I am a failure”, and then our negative thinking sets in.

It is important to remember that there is a lot more to each and everyone of us besides our waist size, weight and physique.

Body image affects both men and women. It is a mental picture we have about the way we think we look. Try thinking of all the times you have said or have heard others saying, “I’m Fat”, “My bum is too big”, “I’m too short”, etc.

It is important to remember that eating a healthy balanced diet and remaining active will help us maintain the right shape and size for you. No two people are the same shape and size. This is determined by our genes. Remember to love your shape and embrace your shape.
