This message board is moderated by Adapt team. We are available to post messages Monday- Friday, messages will not be posted at weekends or on bank holidays. Please remember that staff are only human and at times may not be available in the office to post messages, we do endeavour to have messages posted within a few days where possible. We may post messages in error or there may be technical problems that are out of our control. We therefore ask for your patience as we try to solve problems as quickly as possible.
Keeping Safe:
it is important that safety is at the forefront of your mind whilst using this facility as we want to ensure that no user is subject harm, exploitation or abuse. That is why we will not publish your e-mail address or any other information that may identify you to other users.
Remember if you don’t want a total stranger to know information about you, then don’t post it. We will edit messages and remove any information that we think may identify you to other users. Please consider carefully how what you write can impact on others.
We won’t allow arguments between users to take place, the posting of comment that are nasty, critical and unsupportive. Bullying and harassment is strictly prohibited and any user found behaving in this manner will be barred from using the system.
We understand this is a deeply emotive issue for many but we will not post any messages that are overtly suicidal in tone or contains graphic descriptions of self- harm.
Adapt promotes recovery so we will not post messages that encourage weight loss, purging, abuse of medication etc etc. We will not post messages that are critical of treatments, individuals, hospitals, services or treatment units or health professionals. please be sensitive to others and think about the influence your message will have on others. Remember if in doubt, don’t post!!!!!

Remember when choosing your username, choose one which is unique to you, not to include surname or e-mail address. Do not choose a username which you use on another site that can identify you, choose one unique to this board.
• Messages encouraging weight loss or gain are not acceptable, including calories intake.
• Messages containing URL’S will be omitted , if you want to recommend a certain site please do so by e-mailing

• No names of professionals and treatment centres and other patients will be posted.

• Descriptions of behaviour that others may find disturbing and graphic images of self-harm will not be posted.
• Messages thought to be harassing, defamatory, threatening, abuse, bullying, harmful, obscene, sexually orientated or offence or racially abusive will not be posted.
• Messages will only be posted in English
• We do not allow spamming or advertising.
• Messages containing words for food and drinks will not be posted. The words will be removed and replaced with a ****.
• Don’t pretend to be someone you are not, this is unacceptable
• Messages that give medical diagnoses or medical and treatment advice are not acceptable.
• Be patient with other users. Users of all ages and abilities will be using this message board.
